Descripción Collins Clear-Type Press, London And Glasgow, 1934. Hardcover. Estado de conservación: Fair. 1st Edition. Apparent First Edition (1934 on the title page, no other dates). 'With Coloured Frontispiece and 44 Full Page Illustrations'. 'I'm pricing this book dramatically below the few unimpaired copies for sale on the Internet. The major flaw here is the absence of the original spine which a previous owner has replaced. As you can see in the photographs, this replacement spine has a tear at the top and a little loss at the bottom. Positively, it is well secured on both the front and back and gives the book some solidity. As you can see, the covers have a fair amount of wear. There are a couple spots on the front where a little of the material peeled off. The edges have a good deal of rubbing. The color is gone from the two bottom edges. There's a good deal of rub-through on the edges and at the corners. As for the interior of the book, between the front inside cover and first front end paper there is a crack from top to bottom. The attachment of the front cover is due entirely to the spine that the previous owner attached. The pages in the book are very age tanned and a little stiff. However, all is not bad. Once you get over how tanned the pages are, you may take notice of the fact that there isn't any soiling on these pages (there is age-spotting on the blank verso of the color frontispiece and one age spot on the frontispiece). I turned over every one and didn't see one instance of soiling. How is that possible? Also, I've turned over every page in the book several times and none of them were disturbed by this. No page is detached. There is only one instance (between pages 14 and 15) where there is a crack at the gutter. It goes up about half the way from the bottom edge, so page 15 (and verso 16) is not bound at its bottom half. As to all the rest of the pages (there are 93 in total) I would have to describe them as decently bound, as nothing is loose and there aren't cracks or spaces between these pages. At the same time, I would point out that these age-tanned pages are a little bit stiff and one would certainly want to handle them with extra care. It should be noted that no one has written their name or anything else anywhere in this book. And as I said I turned over every page and can state with certainty that all 44 full page black-and-white illustrations are present. And that the full-page coloured frontispiece is also present (see photograph). Other positives: I saw only three light corner creases. There aren't any markings in the book. There aren't any attachments in the book. Finally, the rear inside cover is solidly bound. There are no cracks or spaces between it and the rear end paper. The inside covers and front and rear end papers are the identical black-and-white illustrations. Nº de ref. de la librería 001702
