There is a small sticker of the issuing bookseller (Foyles) to the front paste down and a bookplate of the Lodge Jamrud No 4372 to the f.e.p. This book is an alphabetical glossery or explanation of 1001 questions relating to English Freemasonry. This copy comes from an extensive library of masonic books once the property of a Grand Master who was a member of the Lodge Jamrud while stationed with the British Army in the North West Frontier. A contemporary report of the meetings of The Lodge Jamrud records a British army major told of a 1935 meeting in what is now Pakistan, near the Khyber Pass. "Members of Lodge Jamrud No. 4372 met in the compound of a Mohammedan village, screened by the mud walls of the buildings. Mud heaps provided seats and pedestals; tent mallets were gavels; pick handles were rods.
