Published in London by Dean & Munday, this is an early chapbook printing of this folk tale from the town of Kirkstall, Leeds in West Yorkshire, where Mary of the title discovers her lover is a robber and a murderer, and her role in bringing around his conviction and execution, the chapbook retains its original front cover but lacks the back cover, 7.25 inches tall approx., 26 pages, illustrated with a hand coloured frontispiece, lacks the back cover as mentioned, edge wear with mild loss to front cover, light browning and light creasing within, else in good general condition.
