Descripción

Yes, this magnificent 238 page tour de force, being an increasingly well respected and energetically applauded offering it is proudly presented with great and well deserved hubris by Hirschfeld Galleries in BOTH the publishers original binding and original dustwrapper. The binding is mottled blue paper over boards with decorations in red and blue, brown suede spine with gold lettering. And this treasure is rocvck solid, tight and clean, AAA all the unbumped way. The original brown silk ruibbon is even present. The decorative jacket is quite nice, save for some minor unavoidable edge chipping and age-darkening. But not to worry or be sad, for said imperfection is made considerably less objectionable, since, on the very positive side of things, the jacket is now and forevermore protected from any future ambient abuse and resulting degradation by professionally fitted and applied yet instantly removable Brodart mylar. Limited to 2978 copies, this copy is number 993. Illustrated with a frontispiece portrait of Jesus. Illustrated by Jules Maurice Gaspard. Bound in Top edges gilt, with ribbon marker. A nicely printed edition on handmade Fabriano handmade paper. A reprint of Hubbard's immensely popular life of Christ. Minor foxing to the first few leaves, otherwise a very nice copy without serious damage or internal marks. SIGNED by Elbert Hubbard II, the author's son, on limitation page, as this volume was published the year after the author's death. Author Hubbard, always the consummate author looks alternately dispassionately and passionately at all sides of this controversially chosen subject matter, and we at Hirschfield Galleries hope that only those who similarly read and contemplate with an objective mind would yearn to become the next caretaker of this seminalogic work. Alas, when all is said and done and the proverbial geese have come home to nest or roost, or whatever, and you're ready to decide to invest some of your hard-earned cash in this lofty offering, please consider that this book does indeed have the four absolute uppermost qualities we at Hirschfeld Galleries since 1931 have always sought, and demanded, in books: 1) excellence in content, 2) literary quality, 3) appealing design, and 4) significance of contribution. Another great altruistic offering opportunity for us and an even greater opportunity for self-actualized reception on your part. But enough of the lugubrious however allegorically wise jaw-jacking, enough said of the telluric parameters of select Hirschfeld Galleries' offerings such as this one which take on a life of their own and speak so very loudly for themselves. Read to learn and enjoy; go forth to share and enjoin. Research, analysis, dissertation, lucubrations or just enjoyment, this is the one. ACTUAL BOOK FOR SALE PICTURED. PLEASE DOUBLE CLICK ON IMAGE TO ENLARGE. And even if you're not interested at this time, THANKS for looking! Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. N° de ref. de la librería 007348
