This history of New Zealand by William Pember Reeves (1857-1932) is still regarded as an authorative study of the country. First published in 1898 it was reprinteded two years later, with this third and revised edition containing new material by Reeves and a chapter on recent events in NZ by Cecil J Wray. There was much to update considering the gap of more than 25 years before the revision, including WWI. Reeves achieved in a wide variety of fields and served NZ well in many ways, with this history remaining a fine memorial. 390 pages, including two appendices/index, followed by one page publisher's list of international books, 24 b/w photos/art, several sketches, two folded maps, one showing tribal boundaries and areas involved in the land wars the other, at the rear, a general map of the country. Maps and photos all in excellent condition. Bright blue hard covers with gilt front decoration (carved canoe stern-piece) and spine titles VG+ with hint wear spine extremities, text block is excellent with very occasional light foxing, no inscriptions. A really nice copy. N° de ref. de la librería 003134
