5 7/8" x 8 1/2", 253 pp., navy blue linen over boards with gilt titling to front and spine, blind-stamped border on front, 31 full-page b/w plates on coated stock. A solid Very Good copy of this scarce 1929 title featuring sharp photographic plates of the most famous New England lighthouses, as well as a few charts, and a comprehensive history of those lighthouses and dozens more. Arranged by location, starting on the Northern Maine coast, then on to Casco Bay, Boston Harbor, Cape Cod, Rhode Island and beyond, with many places in between. Includes a history of the Lighthouse Service of New England as well as appendices of sources and a list of then-manned (ca. 1929) lighthouses, and index. Also includes sailing directions to the lighthouses. Very Good condition with just a bit of wrinkiling to the backstrip, a few bumps to the fore-edge of the front board, and some faint discoloration at the bottom of the back board; otherwise a nice binding with bright 95%+ gilt intact (just a few letters on the spine partially rubbed). Binding is also quite sound and square. Internally very good with no writing, stains, creases or tears. Some foxing, mostly affecting the first ten pages or so, and very mild elsewhere. Scarce in this condition. N° de ref. del artículo 02220v
