Descripción

Hardcover; English language; Acceptable jacket; First Edition; Signed by author; a fair reading copy; price-clipped dust jacket has edge wear, especially at top of spine; there is a scuff on the cloth spine on part of the title; 1968-73 Don Gold was head of the Literary Department of the William Morris Agency in New York (from 1980 he would be editor of Playboy); the book itself is not signed but in the rear of the book are taped two typed letters dated Dec 1972, both hand-signed 'Don' and both written to a friend called Anne; one letter (on William Morris Agency notepaper) refers to the publication of his book and his forthcoming wedding; the other letter (longer and quite gossipy) refers to his wedding (which took place in his apartment, with a reception of 80 guests) and a fascinating paragraph about a best-selling book on which he was a literary agent: 'Funny about Jim Baker. I remember when the guy who hired Jim to design the air museum treated Richard Bach rather badly. Now, thanks to Jonathan Livingston Seagull, Bach is, literally, a millionaire. He was a client of mine on that book and we got one check for him a few weeks ago for more than $500,000. Just one check; there have been, and will be, others. So he doesn't have to worry.'. Your book will be securely packed and promptly dispatched from our UK warehouse. For buyers outside the UK we now offer significantly lower rates on our airmail shipping.
