Although related to the work of British missionaries in South America in the early years of the 20th century this fascinating study covers much of wider interest regarding to the the history, back to the Incas, people, society, customs, occupations, geography and colonisation of several countries. It captures the atmosphere of these areas at a time when they were little changed from the days of early European colonisation. 368 pages including index, 17 b/w photos (one plate missing at p266 "Alberdi Boys' Home", colour fold out map at back.
