Subject: Fiction/Skáldsögur; Scandinavian/Norwegian Literature/Norskar bókmenntir; Barnabækur; Translated from Norwegian/Þýðingar úr norsku. Add.Entry: Bjarni Þórarinsson 1855-1940. TRANSLATOR'S BIO: Translator Bjarni Þórarinsson 1855-1940 resided in Canada, where he served as the Lutheran minister of the Tabernacle (Icelandic) Lutheran Church in Winnipeg from 1900-1903 (see Kristjanson, p. 242). He immigrated to Canada in 1900 and served as pastor of the Tjalbúð Congregation in Winnipeg, then as pastor of the Herðubreið Congregation at Big Point near Lake Manitoba.
