Handsomely bound in the original maroon cloth boards with stamped decoration and bright gilt titling/blocking to the spine (slightly rubbed) and with the Title/other detail picked out on two bright gilt decorated blocks, to front cover. The tips of the corners and the head/tail of the spine and on the front edge are also slightly rubbed and 'bumped'. There is a (faded) presentation note "Swansea Oxford St School Girl's Dept.1912" to the front pastedown. No other Inscriptions or major Marks. Also a few of the small pinpoint 'sewn' binding holes in the main body of the book which haven't been caught up fully in the binding during publishing are showing through slightly on the very inner edges, otherwise this is an EXCELLENT COPY. (iv) + 720pp. This volume covers May 1907 - October 1907, and amongst a Myriad of delights, the contents include not just a few of the usual 'Woman's Interest' - 'The Cream of London and Paris Fashions', etc, - but much, much more - There are contemporary travel tales, history, social and political, etc, etc. This volume completes & concludes a story - in serial form - by H. Rider Haggard entitled 'Fair Margaret'. (At the time of listing I also have for sale, the first volume in this series, uniformly bound, containing all the first parts of 'Fair Margaret'). Many Stories, including - 'Tales of a Woodcutter' by Lawrence Housman, illustrated by S. B. De la Bere. 'The Magic Mirror' by Lady Margaret Sackville and illustrated by Mabel Lucie Attwell; 'The Count's Courtship' by by Walter de la Mare; 'Raoul's Queen by H. C. Bailey, illustrated by Cyrus Cuneo, etc, etc. Humourous articles = 'A Lady Golfers Pot Pourri', Illustrated by Willy Pogany, etc ; Various Poetry, etc. Articles by E. Keble Chatterton and others on Players and Theatre. Other fascinating Non-Fiction articles include 'Women in the New Zealand Alps' by Mrs Malcolm Ross; ' The Gentle Art of Angling. Hints for Ladies' by Gladys Beattie Crozier; Also by her = 'All the Fun of the Fair. A Ranelach Gymkhana Up-To-Date'. Plus 'The Awakening of Belgrade' by Chedo Mijatovich; 'How New York Women Guard their Jewels'; 'Is England Being Ruined by Caste. A Discussion'; etc, etc. Profusely illustrated with over 500 black and white illustrations . Both volumes I (currently) have for sale are EXCELLENT, CLEAN TIGHT AND BRIGHT. This book is overweight and very heavy and MAY require extra postage depending on your location. ; Small, Thick, 4to 9" - 11" tall. N° de ref. de la librería 113006
