marbled endpapers, 144 pp. (printed from p.14, prelims being unpaginated); tanning to t.p. outer margin, across gutter region p.144/blank end fly with very occ. spots elsewhere, otherwise internally clean, tight and unmakred with good end-gutters, would rate VG-Fine; covers, in attractive naturally patterned leather, but not tree calf, have gilt borders and gilt dec.spine panels, with good red gilt lettered title label, marred however by 1 cm. top spine chip across top text-block affecting most of gilt dec. strip across top panel, also chipped to bottom across text-block level, fr. joint has some incipient splitting and coners all rubbed/bumped, clean however and damage not as disastrous as it sounds. The seven satires are dedicated to to different people, each with its own t.p., these are: Duke of Dorset, Earl of Scarborough, Hon.Mr Dodington, Sir Spencer Compton, 5th 'On Women' undedicated, Lady Elizabeth German (also On Women), and Sir Robert Walpole.
