After Sir Richard's death, it is said his widow burnt a large number of papers, journals and Burton'srevision to The Perfumed Garden, which some say he considered his true magnum opus, claiming "his spirit" told her to do this. So it goes. On a page preceding her foreword, the widow dedicates a "Consecration". She writes: "TO MY EARTHLY MASTER Who is Waiting for Me on Heaven's Frontiers: Whilst waiting to rejoin you, I leave as a message to the world we inhabited, the record of the Life into which both our lives were fused. Would that I could write as well as I can love, and do you that justice, that honor which you deserve! I will do my best, and I then I will leave it to more brilliant pens, whose wielders will feel less -- and write better.Meet me soon. I wait the signal!". N° de ref. de la librería 72435
