Richard Beck gaf út (compiled by Richard Beck). Prof. Beck and Rev. Harald Sigmar (Sr.) include thier biographical comments on the aurthor in 12 and 3 page pieces respectively. PUBLISHER: Reykjavík : Bókfellsútgáfan, 1965. DESCRIPTION: xxvi, 312 p. : ill., port, facsim. ; 22 cm. Spine chipped and loose, and reinforced with clear tape by previous owner, front hinge starting, otherwise VG - clean, bright. SUBJECTS: Poetry; Káinn (Kristján N. Júlíus), 1860-1936. Note that he was known as Kainn and is thus renderred by the cataloguers of the U. of manitoba, but a sceond listing on Amicus from the U. of Calgary does not use the 'Kainn' nickname, nor is it used on the title page. This poet immigratied to Winnipeg, Canada from Iceland in 1878; he later moved to North Dakota, USA. Known by the nickname Kainn, he was known by Icelandiers on both sides of the ocean as an "outstanding humourous poet", according to Kristjanson - see p 488.
