Size of the binding: 5 1/2 in. x 8 1/2 in.; worn and chipped spine is covered in blue-gray paper, with later inked (partial & unreadable) inscription, dark green-blue paste paper-covered boards, with red sprinkled edges. This appears to be a bound blank copy-book, with pages ruled in light pencil by the writer, or writers. Inscription on the front paste-down in ink (approximately): 1829 Pod vrelna dni, vkradowne knisska tato ges zepsana w pressowe od C: Srlop[-]. Name at top of first handwritten titlepage: Albert D. Dianiska. List of titlepages (approximately; given without diacritical marks or the special characters for Czech or Slovak; as best as the older, "gothic"/fraktur-style handwriting can be deciphered, several writers/copyist might have been involved): [1] Kriwdy Jizwy, Bitky, Synalosti, Rany, Wezenj, Wihanenj, Smrte: aneb Spolusebranj Smutnich prjpadnostj, vkazugjych, gak odzacatku Reformaczi posawad & Ewangeliky w Vhych nakladano, & hodnowernuch Spisu witazene y zskanssenosti wzate. W Sesnactem stoletj. [Later, crossed out ownership [?] inscription under the titles, partially reads: [-] 1828 a 25. Jul. Titlepage and 181 handwritten pages and a [5] pp. Register (index of chapters, etc.) [2] Frantisska Leopola 3 Ragzyuku. Kraticke wiprawowo wanj a geho strassliweho wihledawanj saudneho pro nektere rozepre duchownj, a ctenj v sebe bez dopusstenj, wrchnosti, a zadrzanj zapomedenjch Kneh w Rzjme nelitostiwe wikonawaneho Leta Pane 1759. Titlepage with scripture quote (Matt. 11, 29.) on reverse, 17 handwritten pages. [3] Wazne Krestanum wzdelawatedlne hadanj Pana nasseho Jezisse Krysta w dwanactem roku weku sweho & Jeruzalemskymi [-]oltory poznamenano skrze gednoho krestana Leta Pane 1827. od Karla Szlopocszly wypracowane. Ritmowne sepsanij Leta Pane 1828 od Carla Szlopovszlij zlozene. Titlepage and 66 handwritten pages. Ink color varies from faded brown, to black (possibly re-inked at a later date, on titlepages), on laid paper, some material is double columned, as if for comparision. Language appears to be Czech, but some early Slovak material may also be present. Pages shows some age-related stains, and signs of wear, as does the binding. Scarce, handwritten material (some, possibly, unpublished) used by Lutherans in Slovakia. Scan shows the title to the poem on the life of Martin Luther, with a facing page of text. This volume alone would make a wonderful basis for scholarly research in the field of Slavic languages, or religious history in Eastern Europe. N° de ref. del artículo ABE-403696256
