Volume 2::[4],7-369. Volume 3: [4], 7-428. The odd pagination (and signing) indicates that this is issued from sheets of the edition of the complete works Bell, Dickson and Elliot published in 1773-74. Volume I begins with a half-title and title page, continues with Rousseaus s preface (vii-x), a dialogue between Rousseau and a man of letters (xv-xliii), a translation of a French review from 1761 ([1]-[4] and then the text. Volumes 2 and 3 likewise have odd paginations, with page 7 coming after the half-title and title. In very good condition. Half-leather on marbled boards, some wear.
