Acerca de

Provides information on careers in environmental protection laws, discussing employers, working conditions, workplaces, and training.

From School Library Journal:

Gr 6-10–Environmental Law offers broad descriptions of the work of lawyers, paralegals, and legal secretaries and the professional requirements and mindset necessary to succeed in this field. Environmental police officers, lobbyists, and regulations and communications specialists are also included, but the connection between communications specialists and the law may not be clear to readers. In Sustainable Agriculture only one chapter is devoted to farm-based employment; work in a slaughterhouse, a recycling plant, in transportation, and in restaurant management are given equal space. Careers in research or legislative work are also considered. The generally pro sustainable agriculture tone of the book is undermined by the frequent repetition of the misleading statistic that an organic farmer can expect to make $10,000 to $20,000 a year. Students interested in farming careers will be better served by a book that actually describes the farm models explored in sustainable agriculture. These slim titles are well organized and contain informatively captioned color photos. While earnings in the books are provided for some jobs, other professions are covered with statements such as "make good money." Occasional comments on the state of an occupation during a down economy are given such as, "when people are pinching pennies they're hard pressed to spend big money on expensive lawyers" (Environmental). Other statements are downright questionable: "Writing...can be a second career for someone who has suffered a disabling injury." Appealing full-color photos are found throughout the books.
