All bound in a Uniform full speckled calf with plain and decorative panels to the front and rear boards - all rubbed, scraped and worn, with some leather loss here and there. Some spines splitting and a couple of front boards detaching/detached. All titling gone or illegible, but gilt numbering on vols 3, 5, 6, 7, 8 & 9 still visible on the spines. All volumes have a printed heraldic bookplate with the name ' Maddock' but under each in old ink is written nee Emily M. Pritchard. (Emily M. Pritchard was a writer of local Cardiganshire/Welsh history in the 1900s). Volume 1 = 1710. 'To Which is Prefix'd Mr Leland's New Year's Gift: and At the End is Subjoyn'd a Discourse Concerning Some Antiquities Lately Found in York-Shire'. 2 blanks before Title. Vallan's Account of Several Parts of Hartford-Shire: and at the end is Subjoyn'd A Letter concerning some Antiquities between Windsor and Oxford'. 2 blanks before Title. Subscriber's List + 'Advertisement' which states - "There are only 120 copies of this book printed.8th volume is actually in the Prefs"). Volume 8 - has had the 'L' and the 'X' removed from the foot of the title page making it look like 1711 but the Publisher to THIS volume ONLY is James Fletcher and the later Title Page 'A Letter to Sir Christopher Wren.' , shows the date M DCC LXIX (1769) - giving the game away! The volume is bound similarly to all the others, so possibly the binding is contempo. N° de ref. de la librería 111036
