Typescript. Folio . ( 320mm. ) Ff. [3], 118 [1]. Aeg.Typed on recto's only. Morocco cover over limp card wrappers. Thornwood in gilt on the upper cover. A detailed valuation of the contents of every room, landing , and staircases, etc; of the substantial house, spread over two floors. The outside effects include the Conservatory, Potting Room, Furnace Room, Garage and Tool House, etc. The most valuable item in the house was a ' Pair of Earrings, each set six diamonds in platinum ' valued at £ 500. There was also a large library of books, the most valuable being ' the Gadshill Edition of the Works of Charles Dickens, half green calf, valued at £34, the total valuation of the books was £811 - 6s. -0p. This inventory indicates that George Collett was a wealthy man, he was a Master Cotton Spinner and one of the Directors of the Pear New Mill of Stockport, he died in 1952. The total valuation was £13,306 -11s - 0p. The land upon which the house stood is now a housing estate.
