Descripción

This booklet is a print record of a lecture delivered by Harold Miller, from Victoria University, Wellington, in Hamilton in 1963 to mark the centary of the Waikato campaign in the land wars of the 1860s. It is an interesting insight into the two factions involved before and leading up to this conflict --- of the Maori people and of the European settlers who feared the consequences of a new outbreak of fighting in what had been a long and wearing war over most of the North Island. A scarce but important account. 22 pages including notes. Card covers VG with faint water mark at front adjacent spine, also inside front cover but not extending into the text block, which is excellent. No inscriptions. N° de ref. de la librería 003663
