Interiors 2nd Book of Hotels by Henry End was published by Whitney Library of Design/Watson-Guptill Publications in 1978. This 9" X 12", 223-page, First Edition is not an ex-library copy, and it is in VG+/VG- condition. This book, other than some very slight yellowing of its pages, has really nothing against it as to the shape it's in. The dust jacket, too, is nice, although it was necessary to clear tape 3-4 random areas to shore up/repair small tears, and there is some modest shelf wear, primarily at top edges of jacket's spine and front cover section. From front inside jacket flap, "Hotels have been called people's palaces. While functioning as vitally needed social centers, they must create an image of affluence, comfort, and service. To achieve this blend of multifaceted function and glamor rivaling that of a movie set is no simple task. Hotels are among the most complicated buildings to design. In this new book, [the author], an internationally recognized interior designer who specializes in hotels, surveys the subject in a sequel to his highly respected text, Interiors Book of Hotels and Motor Hotels. . A thoroughly illustrated reference for all members of the hotel design team--architects, engineers, graphics and lighting consultants, landscape architects, as well as interior designers--this book is equally useful to owners and managers concerned with providing luxurious yet functional hotel facilities." This then is an extremely thorough snapshot, circa the late 1970's, of the state of hotel stylings/fashions, worldwide, explored and described by an acknowledged leader in the field of interior design of these all-important home-away-from-home living complexes. The author's text is very ably complemented by some 16 pages of color photographs and an additional 200 black and white illustrations, much of this work done by Alexander George and Ben Martin. End covers all aspects of hotel design, from "Why a Hotel" to "Hotel Spaces and Their Function" to "Design Procedures and Techniques" to "Standards, Schedules, and Contracts". This offering includes also a Contents page, Selected Bibliography, and Index. Thank you!!. N° de ref. de la librería 004866
