Título: Les Innocents
Editorial: Paris: Le Livre Moderne Illustre, 1924
Año de publicación: 1924
Edición: First Edition.
Illustrated with numerous woodcuts by Dignimont. Warmly INSCRIBED on the half-title by the artist in the year of publication, WITH AN ORIGINAL WATERCOLOR SKETCH of a sallow-eyed couple. One of the earliest published works by the great bohemian litterateur, this is a roman-a-clef about Carco's tempestuous affair with Katherine Mansfield, who was married to John Middleton Murry at the time. Dignimont, Carco's frequent collaborator, was the preeminent illustrator of Parisian cafe society during its most decadent phase: together, their work offers an unforgettable portrait of the demi-monde during "les Annees folles." Original wrappers bound in a handsome contemporary binding of half leather and marbled boards with raised headbands. A near fine copy. N° de ref. de la librería 11780
