Leather; English language; No jacket; First Edition; 4to - over 9.75" - 12" tall; good condition; *** full bound in burgundy leather with gilt patterns around boards and on spine (which has 5 bands) with gilt tooling around inside of boards and green silk endpapers, all page edges are gilded; binding is by the well-regarded London firm of Edmonds and Remnants; bumping to corners and rubbing along edges of boards; endpapers front and rear are in excellent condition and look stunning; internal hinge cracked at page before frontis but no loose pages; very occasional foxing mark but the vast majority of the pages are very clean and bright; handwritten inscription on one of the endpapers reads 'Pinky & Georgy with Papa & Mamma's Kindest love 1870'.
