Green cloth boards with Bright Gilt titling to the spine and front board. The rear cover is plain. The the head/tail of the spine are Slightly worn/bumped, and the corners are rubbed and a little worn at the tips only, the rest of the boards are overall Very Clean and bright. The book is now in a new protective clear - removable - bookfilm plastic cover and looks Near Fine. No dustjacket. The page edges are very lightly 'dusty' brown with a few light foxing spots. The endpapers are floral, and browned on the front & rear free endpapers. A former owner's name/date is written on the ffep. (and on the subscriber's list - I assume - the former owner's son has written a few pencil notes against a few names - ie: against the name Mr. W. T. Mainwaring Hughes - he has written "Pop", and against various 'Jones' ' he has written "Great Uncle", etc, ). ALL hinges sound. Internally the book has a little light foxing to the prelims, etc. , but overall is VG, although the last couple of text pages have been roughly opened at the top edge. (xix) + 347 pp + (6 pp - Subscriber's List). There is a tissue guarded b/w portrait Frontispiece of the Author plus 4 other full page b/w plates and b/w text illustrations. Overall, this is a Very Clean, Tight and Bright VG/NF copy, (with interesting 'Associations') now in a new protective clear - removable - bookfilm plastic cover and looks Near Fine. A Scarce Title and stands alone, as Volume 2 was not published until 1992 by the Royal Institution of South Wales - I assume from Jones' Mss notes? . (William Henry Jones, 1860-1932) ; Vol. 1; 8vo 8" - 9" tall. N° de ref. de la librería 110477
