Colour Frontispiece Illustrated with "A Forest in Central Africa", opposite an Illustrated Title Page with Colour Vignette portrait of Stanley, surrounded by African Warriors and Wild Animals, followed by Printed Title Page. 948 Pages, 12 1/4" Tall. Slight edge wear to leather. Gilt edging to pages worn. Small closed marginal tear to one plate (not touching illustration). No inscriptions. Only an occasional small spot of foxing. A few light marks in a few margins, from handling and a few extremely light stains in bottom corner of a few pages. Generally in very good, clean condition.
