Some general rubbing to hinges and exterior. Interior shows some foxing, fading. Some pages have corner tears. Early inscription. Includes large, detailed illustrations and appendix. Several plates but could not locate map, as title suggests. This is a very large and heavy book. FOLIO. This would make an excellent gift and/or addition to any library. Antiquarian books make a great investment and are only going up in value. Large folio 1/2 dark calf and marbled boards, rebound tastefully in the 20th century . First American edition thus. Some light foxing throughout; a few old repairs and closed tears. Note the loss of 2/3 of the city engraving of the Holy City in the center. The folding map of Jerusalem is dampstained and toned, partially split along one fold. Binding rubbed at corners, with some light scuffing. There is damp staing and tidal mark through the text and visibleon the binding however still a fair copy in a pretty binding with many plates, note repairs to title page and frontispiece as well. should be seen.
