BRAND NEW! NEVER READ! Reprint of the 1891 edition, 690pp, folding map, photos of over 200 unit members, roster, index. "Many volunteer cavalry regiments which distinguished themselves on the battle fields of the Civil War have had their histories written and published in a style well calculated to perpetuate, for the use of their descendants and future historians of the war, the memory of the unparalleled services rendered by them for the preservation of the Union; many of these have been issued in an attractive and useful form, but none have, up to present time, approached in completeness and luxury that which has lately appeared to commemorate the services and chronicle the history of the officers and enlisted men of the First Massachusetts Cavalry.". Sinopsis: This is a pre-1923 historical reproduction that was curated for quality. Quality assurance was conducted on each of these books in an attempt to remove books with imperfections introduced by the digitization process. Though we have made best efforts - the books may have occasional errors that do not impede the reading experience. We believe this work is culturally important and have elected to bring the book back into print as part of our continuing commitment to the preservation of printed works worldwide.
Sinopsis: Unlike some other reproductions of classic texts (1) We have not used OCR(Optical Character Recognition), as this leads to bad quality books with introduced typos. (2) In books where there are images such as portraits, maps, sketches etc We have endeavoured to keep the quality of these images, so they represent accurately the original artefact. Although occasionally there may be certain imperfections with these old texts, we feel they deserve to be made available for future generations to enjoy.
