Unsure as to whether somewhat stained card covers are original ones as there is no frontispiece showing a facsimile of the original 1584 edition as recorded in the Contents. The Scottish Text Society is a major publisher of important texts from Scotland's literary history. The epic of the biblical heroine, Judith is volume 14 of the society's series 3. Pages uncut last four unopened. This is a straightforward reprint of the original 1574 edition which was translated from the French epic written by Guillaume de Bartas by Thomas Hudson, in 1584 court poet to King Janes vi and i Size: 8vo. The bookshop is situated at 5 Back Wynd, off the main thoroughfare of Union Streetin the heart of historic Aberdeen, and is open Monday to Saturday, 9.30 am - 5.30 pm with late night opening on a Thursday till 7 pm. We are also open on Sundays from noon - 4pm. We have a constantly changing stock of approximately 7,000 books as well as music and videos. The aim of this shop is to support Oxfam in its various programmes.
