Three volumes bound as one; size of the binding: 4 inches x 6 in. x 1 3/4 in (thick); half-title, title-page. [4]pp., pp. [1]-359; half-title, title-page. [4]pp., pp. [5]-366 [blank leaf]; half-title, title-page. [4]pp., pp. [5]-270. Printed on a thin paper stock, with stab-marks present near the inner gutters. Spanish text. Mottled brown leather spine and sides, with titling and decoration gilt on the spine, and gray-green paste-paper over boards, blue-green endpapers, blue sprinkled edges. The spine ends, hinges show rubbing to the leather, some wear and chipping to the cover corners, back cover fore-edge, damp stain to the back flyleaves. With the engraved, heraldic bookplate of World Traveler & author, John B. Ireland, author of "From Wall Street to Cashmere: A Journal of Five Years in Asia, Africa, and Europe, 1851-56.", published in New York, in 1859. He has written his name in pencil on the top of the title-page: J B Ireland Havana Mch '57 [March 1857], with a few penciled notations on the title-page and front flyleaf (and at p. 226 of Vol. 2: Trinidad Mch 57). A Spanish translation of a Paul Feval novel, set in Brittany & elsewhere. Rare item. Few copies of this Spanish translation, printed in Havana, Cuba, seem to have survived, this one was probably acquired in Havana in 1857 by John B. Ireland, who seems to have been reading it on his way to Trinidad. From the collection of Cleveland, Ohio based book collector, William G.
