Sinopsis: Albert Frederick Pollard (1869-1948) was a British historian who specialized in the Tudor period. Pollard studied and wrote about the history of the Tudors from a political viewpoint. Later in his career, he was a major force in establishing history as an academic subject in Britain. He went to Jesus College, Oxford and achieved a first class honours in Modern History. He became Assistant Editor of and a contributor to the Dictionary of National Biography. He was a member of the Royal Historical Manuscripts Commission, and founder of the Historical Association. He published 500 articles in the Dictionary of National Biography, and many other books and papers concerning history. Some of his works are: Henry VIII (1905); The History of England: A Study in Political Evolution (1912); and A Short History of the Great War (1920).

About the Author:

William Shakespeare (1564-1616), English poet and dramatist of the Elizabethan and early Jacobean period, is the most widely known author in all of English literature and often considered the greatest. He was an active member of a theater company for at least twenty years, during which time he wrote many great plays. Plays were not prized as literature at the time, and Shakespeare was not widely read until the middle of the eighteenth century, when a great upsurge of interest in his works began that continues today.
