Moderate wear; covers a bit rubbed and edgeworn; text block edges toned; some mild moisture damage to the back end of the text block; some insect damage; some inked emendations to the text by a previous owner. Very good. "Haku Rakuten" is a famous Noh play of the first, or Kami mono, category, written by Zeami Motokiyo sometime in the 1430s. It concerns Tenjin, the Japanese god of poetry, who repels the Chinese poet, Bai Juyi (aka. Bai Letian, or Po Chü-i - 772-846) from Japan in the mid-900s, in defiance of what was thought to be a challenge from China to the autonomy of Japanese poetry.
