426 pp; Volume I only. Book is bound in brown paper boards, 4 raised bands, gilt lettering on spine. Name of 2 previous owners written in front end papers, endpapers foxed and stained. Pages are toned throughout but little foxing, a few pages folded over as place markers, and page or two stained. Frontis map in nice shape (English Colonies, dated 1656). Title page indicating publication in London by Charles Gilpin. Contains Preface and is complete with Chapters I through XXII included. Two foldout maps in nice shape are included (New England and New York, Virginia and Maryland) , as well as single page map of NJ, engraving and lithographed fac-simile of letter.
