This is an original, complete issue of 16 pages dated February 9, 1884 -- Vol. 28, No. 1416 -- Illustrated with wood cut engravings -- Covers are tight, light moisture stain around edge, otherwise nice condition -- The Front Cover has a full page portrait engraving titled "The Late Wendell Phillips" -- Page 88 has two large engravings, one by J. MacDonald titled "Going To The Montreal Carnival--A Snow-Shoe Party In Canada", the other by C. J. Taylor titled "Curling Match On Van Cortlandt Lake--Scotland Against America" -- Page 89 has a full page of nine engravings by J. O. Davidson titled "Port Eads, South Pass Of The Mississippi" -- Pages 92 & 93 have a double page centerfold, consisting of several engravings, titled "The Seventeenth Exhibition Of The American Water-Color Society, At The National Academy Of Design" -- Page 96 has two large engravings, one titled "Union Theological Seminary" (New York), the other by Charles Graham titled "The Bad Lands Of The Little Missouri" -- Page 97 has a large engraving titled "The Ice Castle At Montreal" (Dominion Square) -- This issue contains a portion of the serial "I Say No: or The Love-Letter Answered" by Wilkie Collins, Chapters XVI & XVII -- Many articles related to these engravings and other events occurring at the time, as well as very interesting advertising -- This paper is technically referred to as a periodical, however, it is a Historical Document, recording events at the time of their occurrence -- An excellent opportunity for the Historian, Researcher or Collector. ---- We store and ship each Harper's Weekly issue in a large zip lock plastic sleeve with a board insert for stiffness.
