Título: Guide to Marks on Early Canadian Silver 18th...
Editorial: The Ryerson Press, Toronto, ON, Canada
Año de publicación: 1968
Condición del libro: Very Good
Very little to no wear. Quite clean. 'Early Canadian silver is distinguishable from silver made in England, Scotland, Ireland and continental Europe because it is not stamped with the official mark of an assay office to denote where it was made or the quality of the silver; nor is there a date letter to indicate the year in which it was made. Marking of Canadian silver of the 18th and 19th centuries is somewhat similar to the method employed by American silversmiths during and after the colonial period. There are basic differences, but in broad terms the marking of Canadian silver reveals a distinctive and well-defined pattern.' Illustrated with b/w photos. 104 pages. 3.75 x 6.75 inches.
