Color-printed paper covers with titling, and border of Easter lilies in green & brown framing a portrait of a woman holding a large group of Easter lilies, on the front cover, with an ad printed in brown tones on the back cover: "The First Message From Mars" (a Martian with a bullhorn, sending this message to Earth: "Send us up some Pears' Soap". Stapled. The spine shows splitting, with lower covers re-pasted, light, age-related tanning to outer covers, printed subscriber's address in upper right of the outer front cover, this issue was probably rolled in mailing, rather than folded. The Sarah Orne Jewett story is on page 169-170, with two illustrations; some other items in this issue: "Struck Out", by Sheldon C. Stoddard (baseball related); The Naval War College by John D. Long, Secretary of the Navy (pp. 172-173, 2 photos); "Eskimo John and his Foxskin", by C. A. Stephens; "The Meeting of the Extremes", by Elizabeth McCracken; "The Trader's Dilemma", by Franklin Welles Calkins. The Children's page features a W. A.
