Acerca de

Sinopsis:

Rudy Winston was a good man to know in South-Side Chicago in the thirties, forties and fifties, and Barry Gifford brings him to life from three very different points of view: through the eyes of his son, through obituaries and news stories, and through an FBI report on a caper called the "Gulf Coast Bank Sneak." A Good Man to Know is most memorable for its child's vision of events, some mundane, others unsettling: mysterious roadtrips, a death at a baseball game, a search for alligators in Florida, a mother's penchant for fortune-tellers.

About the Author:

Barry Gifford is the author of over twenty-five books. His work includes fiction, non-fiction, poetry, plays and screenplays and has been translated into more than seventeen languages. His novel, Wild at Heart was made into an award winning film by David Lynch. It was the first of six interlocking novels which follow the crazy adventures of Sailor Ripley and Lula Pace Fortune, referred to as "the most likeable, sex-driven, star-crossed lovers that you are ever likely to meet." Gifford's writing has appeared in many national magazines and newspapers and his books have received awards from PEN, the NEA, the Art Directors club of New York, the American Library Association, and the Premio Brancati, Italy's national book award. He lives in the San Francisco Bay area.
