Fine hardcover in a Near Fine dustjacket. Scarce book. The book is elegantly bound in dark blue cloth-covered boards with stamped gilt lettering on the spine. A history of German knighthood as a class in its medieval heyday, dealing not only with the customs and practices of knightly life but also with the impact of knighthood on the political world of the German Empire. The book itself is essentially flawless. It is exceptionally clean and very straight, very firm and tight in its binding, no pages loose, missing or torn. The dustjacket is also very clean and is completely intact, no tears, no chips, no pieces missing, no creases, no wrinkles, and no edgewear. BUT the previous owner of the book self-laminated the dustjacket with mixedresults: It is greatly reinforced and protected, but there are a few slight wrinkles and creases in the clear lamination.
