Joule, Robert Hunt, Michael Faraday, J.F.W. Herschel, and William Robert Grove (in three parts), and others. viii, 552pp. Calf-backed marbled boards, with raised bands; there is an oval gilt-stamped imprint of the Society of Writers to the Signet on front and read covers. There is a 1/2" chip missing from the top of the spine, and the front joint is also cracked.
