About the Author:

Rev. Lal Behari Day (1824-1894) converted to Christianity in 1843 and began his career as a catechist in the new church founded by Duff. He severed his ties with the mission when he was appointed Head Master, Berhampur Collegiate School in 1867, while pursuing his literary interests.
