Blue cover with bright gold titles on front cover and spine, top edge gilt, twelve color drawings in green, red and black by Blanche Mcmanus, decorative title page, includes a Chronological Table and a Comparative Table, "A reprint in full of the First Edition, 1859 of the Second Edition, 1868, and of the Fifth Edition, 1889, together with Notes indicating the minor variants (found in the Third Edition, 1872, and in the Fourth Edition, 1879) Edited by Nathan Haskell Dole." The covers are worn through at the corners, several rather faint tan blemishes are present, mild foxing/tanning present on the coated illustration pages but the illustrations are still in nice shape, short corner-creases to the bottoms of some of the pages and a bump to the bottom of pages 37-40 which has resulted in a short tear, two pages in the Notes section also have short tears to the bottom, all of the text is fine and this remains a presentable copy despite the flaws ; 159 pages.
