About the Author: Stanley E. Alston
Stanley E. Alston was born in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. Stan, a graduate of Carver Vocational Technical High School In Baltimore, continued his studies at the Community College of Baltimore, Long Island University in New York, New York University, and numerous colleges and universities in the field of telecommunications. He also attended the Columbia School of Broadcasting in Arlington, had formal training at the Baltimore Dance Theater, and was a writer-in-residence with the theatrical group in Great Neck, New York. Stan is a registered publisher and songwriter with Broadcast Music, Inc (BMI), an American nonprofit performing rights organization that represents approximately 300,000 songwriters, composers, and music publishers in many music genres. He is also a member of the International Society of Poets and the American Guild of Authors and Composers.
Stan has performed at Radio City Music Hall, the Apollo Theatre, the Copacabana nightclub, Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, and in Harlem, New York, as a member of the Abyssinian Baptist Church. As a recording artist, he has numerous releases to date and continues to add to his extensive repertoire. Stan co-wrote Be For Real, the theme music for WJZ TV, and AT&T’s Reach Out America. His poetry and songbook, Faith, Love, and Life: A Collection of Poems and Songs are now available in paperback and on CD.
Stan is currently writing his second book, The Wonderful Game of Baseball. He is a sports enthusiast who enjoys football and basketball and is a certified baseball instructor. When his busy schedule allows, Stan loves to swim and work out in the gym with his family. He currently resides in Woodbridge, Virginia with his wife Sheila and his three sons, Stanley, Isaiah, and Xavier. His daughter, Chanda, resides in Baltimore, Maryland.
