[i], 15p., self-wraps newsletter softbound with four left-margin staples, pamphlet mimeo'd on 8.5x14 inch paperstock with a b&w cover photo of a guy reading (strike placards in background), title rubberstamped in red ink. Illustrated minimally with a few Posada cuts. Top and bottom margins of the cover-sheet are badly foxed and stained, corner creases, discolorations within, two transverse foldlines are a little soiled along the terminal leaf, expect some dog-earing, a good-only copy. OCLC shows one copy (UC Berkeley), cataloged under the caption title as of 8/2015. Report by an engaged by-stander which begins, "At the University of California an enormous iceberg, you might say, has split off and slid into the sea with a prolonged and echoing roar. This writer was not on it, no participant, only an observer nearby. But the participants are articulate, and moreover, for once they have STYLE. This light, let it shine! The documents of the Free Speech Movement are the best main account of events." Further on, pp.4/5, he cites Lewis Feuer's canards in the New Leader: ".lumpen-proletarians, lumpen-beatniks, and lumpen-agitators wend therir ways to the university campus to advocate a melange of narcotics, sexual perversion, collegiate Castroism, and campus Maoism.Every year sees its quota of horrible murders and rapes on the Multiversity's grounds '[.or --] It has been observed that several of the student leaders are the children of well-known Communist leaders." --a diatribe that segues into an attack on DuBois clubs-- at which point our editor points out that he "knows several of them, and wants to take his opportunity to state that Feuer's picture of them is a lie. They are NOT the authoritarian types his words bring to mind. I don't know all of them, but I don't know any of that sort, and I know for sure that he is not describing Mike Myerson, Bettina Aptheker, Tracy Sims, etc.". N° de ref. de la librería 198175
