He began working as a comic book inker at age 15 and within a year he was drawing stories and a year after that was drawing illustrations fro such pulps as The Shadow, Doc Savage and Detective Tales. He went on to draw the comic book adventures of Zorro, Hawkman, Jesse James and the obscure but provocative White Princess of the Jungle.
