The power wielded by the ruthless, and the apathy of law allow the independent crime lords of the underworld to collaborate and establish a powerful international crime cartel. This underworld force, headed by U. S. crime lord Cy Manat, hides behind the protections afforded by constitutional law that allow them to acquire commercial and industrial enterprises using racketeering methods. The complacent law enforcement agencies see no danger. But a police officer, Harold Parkins does. He cant confide in his superiors - the crime lords have corrupted them as well. About the Author:

Larry Maisner was born in London, England, where he survived a typically English public school education and the London blitzkrieg. Enlisting in the U.S. Air Force, he graduated from electronics technical school and won an AAU title on the Air Force boxing team. As an engineering writer in the Aerospace Industry, he was involved in the documentation of several programs involving international industrial espionage. He writes technical books for bread and sports books and novels for love, having studied creative writing at UCLA under the late Leonardo Berkovici. His first published novel, Engines of Corruption, is a political thriller. His soon-to-be-finished novel in progress, From a Gentle Lantern, is a work of inspirational literary fiction. His short story, The Waiting Game, is the first, and probably the only, soccer science fiction piece ever written. Larry is at home in Encino, California, with wife Val, Airedale Terrier Laddie and Miniature Schnauzer Pudden'.
