First Edition, Third Printing with a number sequence down to 3. Fine in Fine unclipped ($16.00) dust jacket. This copy is SIGNED, not inscribed, by Barbara Cooney on the title page. Though she graduated from Smith College with a degree in history, art was Barbara Cooney's passion. Encouraged to draw unsupervised as a child, Barbara developed her own "folk art" style that would win her TWO CALDECOTT AWARDS and many other illustrative and children's book accolades. For most of her life, Barbara Cooney lived and worked in the house one of her sons built especially for her! Emily is the author's third book and was meticulously researched, an homage to a beloved poet who not only hid her work, but she often hid herself from those who came to call. This lovely autographed book is protected in a Brodart cover. N° de ref. de la librería 001309
