Lower extremities mildly bumped, faint toning along gutter of front endpapers, otherwise no flaws noted. Tight binding, square spine, clean throughout. Dust jacket is price-clipped, shows a little wear with nicks to extremities, a 2cm short closed edge tear to front panel, but still quite presentable. Memoir of the author's life in Colombia where she and her husband participated in yellow-fever research investigating the role of mosquitoes in transmitting the disease. Two chapters were originally published in the September 1947 National Geographic, with whom the author had a personal connection - her grandfather was Alexander Graham Bell.
