circa 1960. Very good condition with no wrapper. Originally published in 1954 by Sampson Low with a plastic spiral ring binding, this is an early reprint with laminated boards and spine. Large oblong format. 5 pop-up scenes. Spine and corners very slightly bumped and rubbed. Split to top 2" of spine. Pop-ups in excellent working order. Some pale foxing otherwise contents clean. [R]. Descripción No place no publisher or printer circa, 1960. Second issue circa 1960, 270 x 210 mm, 10½ x 8 inches, hinged on long side, red laminated boards with colour illustration to both covers. 5 lovely double page coloured pop-up illustrations, 12 large colour illustrations in the 8 pages of text. Laminate lifting in gutters, about 6 tiny holes in the gutter on the lower cover, caused by erosion beneath the laminate (see image 2). Covers otherwise very bright and contents very nice, pop-ups crisp and perfect. Very good plus copy. First published by Sampson Low, Marston in 1954 with a plastic spiral spine. In this reissue which curiously has no mention of publisher or printer, the title page is omitted and the first and last pop-ups are attached to the inside of the covers. In the original publisher's glossy pictorial laminated boards. No dustjacket as issued. The boards are overall VG the clear laminate is splitting along the spine hinge fold, and the top left hand cornewr has a small tear. The very tips of the corners are sl. Rubbed but o/w the boards are Very Good, Bright and Tight. There is NO Date given but this has to be late 60s possibly even early 70s? ? - I have put that it is a reprint as I believe that the very first edition of this book was published by Sampson Low, but I could be wrong? . As a Reprint this could be the first in a new form? . Either way it is an earlyish edition. Oblong 4to. Contains 5 lovely full colour pop ups and text with colour illustrations. The first pop-up has one crease and one (internal) repair. The second pop up has some creasing and lacks one blank 'link' piece of card, the remaining 3 pop-ups are IMMACULATE! Internally there is one slightly grubby blank (1cm) corner o/w the book has No Inscriptions or Marks. Overall this is an Excellent Very Clean, Tight and Bright copy. ; Oblong 4to 11" - 13" tall.
