Twenty years before the rather more user-friendly Ancient Turkey, Professor Seton Lloyd published this extremely interesting account of the life of the early inhabitants of this great bridge between Europe and Asia. The book is full of illustrations of the archaeological finds to which he contributed greatly and is a splendid example of the importance of the discipline in understanding the civilization and lives of people who came late to writing. The material and conjectures are equally fascinating. N° de ref. de la librería 10474

Descripción de la librería: We specialise in travel, adventure and exploration books published between about 1900 and 1960, loosely referred to as post-imperialist travel writing. Although most books are the first-hand experiences of their authors, we have included books of general interest about a particular area or incident and autobiographies and biographies by and of famous travellers or adventurers. You will also find some books we consider of particular merit outside our somewhat arbitrary date range. Mark Culme-Seymour Proprietor
