Sinopsis: In Greg Boyd's novel The Double, neither the protagonist nor his double can tell which one is the imposter and the fictions the protagonist reads seem more real than his own life. The novel proceeds through its mystery, while the protagonist, and the book itself, is taken over by interlocking fictions and fairy tales and photo collages and block prints that enter in footnotes and take about half of the book in the form of 14 appendices.
About the Author: Greg Boyd was born in upper state New York, raised and educated in Los Angeles and now lives in rural Northern California. A print-maker, painter, collagist, and publisher as well as a writer, Boyd is the former editor of the literary magazine Asylum. He is the author of two collections of prose poems (The Masked Ball and Puppet Theater, both published by Unicorn Press), three collections of short fiction (Water & Power, Carnival Aptitude, both published by Asylum Arts, and Modern Love and Other Tall tales, published by Red Hen Press), the novel Sacred Hearts (Hi Jinx Press), and is the translator of Charles Baudelaires novella La Fanfarlo (Creative Arts).
