Descripción

First edition. Quarto. [52]pp., 20 numbered plates (including one folded) and 17 unnumbered plates. Half calf and marbled paper over boards, spine re-backed in period-style calf with gilt-stamped raised leather spine label, added laid paper endleaves reinforced at the hinges with cloth tape. Rubbing, moderate wear to the edges and corners, very good. The complete series of lithographic plates drawn and printed by Joseph Hollway, depicting an early pasigraphic writing scheme. Hollway's original engraved bookplate has been tipped-in on the added front pastedown. A made-up copy, with the first two plates transposed (presumably by Hollway), and one letterpress leaf (pp. 23-24) out of numerical order so that the letterpress descriptions follow the order of plates. A unique, custom-bound copy. N° de ref. de la librería 347892
