Sobre este título:

Sinopsis:

With echoes of THE NAME OF THE ROSE, comes this thought-provoking novel about an attempted murder and its mystical consequences. Part mystery, part psychological drama about love, part depiction of the duality of human nature, of good and evil, of heterosexuality and bisexuality, part exploration of the making of a Christian mystic, Dear Dante simply defies easy categorization. Anthony Maulucci has compressed many layers into his well-wrought narrative and finely tuned characterizations. You must read it to understand the story and see how the many pieces are blended masterfully together.

The main narrator of DEAR DANTE is an English-born Italian named John, a professor of Medieval and Renaissance studies living in Tuscany and writing a book about Dante. A bi-sexual father in the midst of a marital and spiritual crisis, John has visions of Dante and Beatrice while listening to his former student's story of a redemptive journey through a personal hell -- the attempt to murder his lover's husband and his struggle to choose between the two women in his life -- that reawaken his creative energies and help bring about his spiritual renewal.

Biografía del autor: Anthony Maulucci was born in Hartford and grew up in suburban Connecticut. He has lived in Boston, Montreal, Toronto, and New York City. Mr. Maulucci worked in professional theatre and enjoyed a prominent career as a freelance writer before turning to college teaching in 1989. After earning his M.A. in Liberal Studies from Wesleyan University, he taught fiction writing and/or literature at the University of Hartford, the University of Connecticut, Three Rivers Community College, and the Lyme Academy College of Fine Art. Disillusioned with both mainstream publishing and the academic teaching of creative writing, he established an alternative writing workshop (Green Tiger Writers Workshop) and an independent publishing company (Lorenzo Press) in order to take personal control of his writing career. He continues to publish his works in the spirit of freedom and non-conformity while living happily with his life partner in Southeastern Connecticut.
